I have always found our societies general view of the "misfits " and people with certain labels that box brilliant minds in, to be soo frustrating.
Wither it be looking down in pity, with an air of superiority or just simply a lack of education and understanding how these unique minds work.
I had a chance on my trip to stop in for a visit and heard Timothy's amazing soulful music. I haven't heard a song that has brought tears to my eyes in....I can't remember how long really .
I listened to his challenges and felt deeply for his frustration as an "autistic" person .
He has a genius aptitude, yet struggles with how to put it into real world applications.
That made me deeply reflect as well, how there are very little bridges of support for people like this.
Not surprising really, as they are way ahead of the times and the fresh new creative ideas would cause so much disruptions to the societal norms.
Especially the rate in which they can problem solve, would rival a supercomputer.
That also would require other people like them to create those systems . The catch is, that is where there is a deficit with this galaxy brain thinking ( that's what I prefer to call it :)
So getting capital / physical support would be a challenge in a system that's been kind of rigged too keep people going in circles for too long .
In order for people like this to be able to bloom into their natural gifts and talents .
It is my wishes that this will change and even though I'm a "galaxy brain" as well . I am hoping that some of my intellectual deficits are actually going to work in my favour :) That I might be able to translate and help bridge the gaps for some truly talented minds . In any little or big way that I am able to .
We had such stimulating and very in-depth conversations .
Honestly I think it was a tad overwhelming for the both of us :)
For the first time I actually felt like someone could grasp the larger concepts that I have explored . Yet I still felt like I was a bit behind in some ways . Which I actually liked because it helped me understand both sides .
Timothy shared with me how " handi-capable" people have a spoon analogy.
When you are "dis abled " in any way you only have so many spoons to work with in a day .
It takes a huge amount of energy to just perform "normal" mundane tasks .
This I can totally relate to dealing with chronic " illness " for many years. (I'm self healing from)
So when he shared how when a " dis-abled" person decides to share anything with you (time, resources...) they are actually forfitting their own spoons for the day .
That comes in many forms, from not being able to prioritize their self care any longer for the day, to great emotional , physical and mental stress it takes on them .
It is the act of ultimate unconditional love on their part .
It totally broke my heart, yet opened it up at the same time when he explained this .
What a beautiful gift to receive and for that I am honoured and very grateful.
I'm hoping when he is able and ready to share some of his music.( No pressure Tim ;)
I will be able to help share it with others as a little thank you for sharing his spoons with me.
