What I find beautiful and simple about the ancient philosophies of Taoism/Daoism or Buddhism to name just a few . Many ancient cultures all have the same principle foundations.
They were not initially about religion or dogma.
There are no "rules," there is no one that tells you what to do or how to live . Or guilts you if your not living according to a certain governing doctrine. ( Aka pray to a god and put a priest / minister or spiritual leader on a pedestal)
Yet there are suggestions and helpful advice to lead you on a path that is more peaceful and harmonious . With yourself, nature and your community.
I feel that is why I have always been drawn to the more phylisophical side of spirituality.
As it is a path of discovering and self evolution.
Not one that can be told or controlled by anyone or anything else.
There is a sense of freedom and self empowerment that comes from this type of approach to the spiritual world.
As some principals of Taoism.
With care, aid those who are merely extended expressions of our own nature. We are all fundamentally connected.
At the same time, be true to yourself. Be authentic. ...
Connect to the world as you wish to be treated. ...
To those unwilling to accept you for who you are, no action is required.
